Today’s adventure
Kristen | April 30, 2010Today I decided not to drive to playgroup. We were just going about 3/4 mile away, so I figured that the boys and I could make it just fine. Then I decided to let them ride their bikes. Miles jumped at the chance, but Quinn…not so much. He opted to ride the little blue ride-on car that he’s had since he was 1. I brought the wagon because I figured there was no way they would make it on their bikes the entire way. Boy, was I ever wrong! Unbelievably, Quinn rode that little car all the way to playgroup. Miles made it on his bike as well. And it only took us 25 minutes to get there (takes longer when you have to stop and watch every car and truck that goes by! But at least they were stopping and not riding off into the traffic!)
Here they are on the way home:
Quinn only rode about halfway home and then gave up because his chest hurt from laying on the steering wheel! Miles rode just about all the way back. We celebrated with a picnic lunch at the bus stop. Honestly, the worst part of the trip was getting Miles the two tenths of a mile home from the bus stop!!!
Check out the short video of them riding – Miles is starting to get the hang of his bike!
